At last! Proof that I've been getting a ton of knitting done over the past few months. First, the finished socks in Regia Jubilee:
I cut off the tops of the socks in the photo to spare you having to see my ultra-hairy legs. I do love these socks. They're sort of red and brown and pink (it's the India colorway), and since I wear a lot of pink, I'm also wearing these socks a lot. I didn't try to match up the stripes, I kind of like the slightly mismatched look. I loved working with this yarn, and if the socks hold up as well as I think they will, I'm definitely going to make another pair in a different colorway. The pattern I used was the basic sock pattern for Regia Jacquard. Big kisses to Jannett for helping me pick up a dropped stitch on the first sock!
Next up is the completed back of Grace. All those cables nearly killed me, but she does look so pretty.
After I finished the back I gave Grace a rest and just picked her up again a few weeks ago. I knew I was going to do the tubular cast-on for the fronts like I did for the back, and while I love the look of that cast-on, it takes forever to do, and spending more than an hour casting on is not my idea of fun knitting. But I finally dove in, and thanks to the fact that the fronts have way fewer cables, I'm almost to the arm shaping on the left front. Photo of that to come.
What else? Oh, here's Spencer's Harry sweater:
It's all done; I blocked the front and back before I seamed it, but I need to block the sleeves now because they're a bit narrow---all that ribbing is pulling them in. Once I do that and give it a final blocking it'll be all done!
And this is the front of Spencer's wizard sweater:
The back is the same, and the sleeves also have the star design at the cuffs. I'm working on the second sleeve right now. The intarsia is kind of a pain but it's gotten easier as I've worked with it more. Spencer loves to do magic so this will be perfect for him to wear when he's trying to make Ginger disappear.
And last but not least, a fluffy scarf for an online friend who just moved to a very cold climate from the sunny West coast.
I used Lion Brand Fun Fur and Boucle and did 10 or 11 stitches of garter stitches until it looked long enough. Easy peasy, right? You can see a close-up of the furriness here .
