I'm working on this extended post, like an entry-type thing. I do a bit at a time until I'm done . . . yesterday I added four or five rather long paragraphs, and just now I checked and they're gone. I dunno what happened, but I'm really irked because writing anything of any length takes me forever these days and now I'll have to do it all over again.

I about fell out of the car last night when I saw gas at $2.49 a gallon. How much is it going for where you live?

Yeah, I saw Tom Cruise gushing over Katie Holmes on Oprah the other day. Time will tell whether this is real or an infatuation or what. What bugged me was this. Saying that Brooke Shields (or any other mother) shouldn't take anti-depressants to get through PPD? That she was 'misguided'? When he's given birth and then experienced the overwhelming sadness and misery and crushing awfulness that is PPD, THEN maybe he can make an educated comment about it. Personally, I say THANK GOD for the meds. I shudder to think where my family and I would be without them.

I finally figured out how to request books online from a local library. First they send my e-mail notifications to the wrong e-mail address; luckily the nice person who got them forwarded them on to me (Mom: it was the same person you accidentally e-mailed a few months ago, they're probably getting sick of us by now). At 11 a.m. I went to pick up my books, only to discover that the library wasn't yet open: they don't open until noon on Wednesdays. Whaaa? I've had some strange library experiences---like the one in Texas that didn't allow renewals, period---but a public library that isn't open by at least ten in the morning? Gah.
